Albizu y los Pitirres

Albizu y los Pitirres refers to the famous poet and lawyer known as Pedro Albizu Campos, who led one of the biggest independence movements in Puerto Rico. Albizu Campos is seen as the most important figures for the independence of Puerto Rico. The word Pitirres represents Puerto Rico because the pitirre is a small bird that would fight the broad-winged hawk(guaraguao) which represented the United States. In the end, the pitirre would be victorious. This is how Pedro Albizu Campos got this nickname. Albizu y los Pitirres is located in the streets of San Sebastian.
