Castillo San Felipe del Morro

This is one of Puerto Rico's important and picturesque military structure. El Morro took more over 200 years to build. This huge and beautiful structure was named in honor of Spain's King Phillip II. The Morro was built to protect Spain's colony (which at the time was Puerto Rico) from invaders who wanted to capture it. El Morro managed to repel many of Spain's enemies away from Puerto Rico. This is a must see when going to Old San Juan. Castillo San Felipe del Morro can be found in el Parque Nacional.
